To conclude the 2008 Spring Retreat, Senior Vice President of Finance and Business/Treasurer Gary Schultz and Vice President of Finance and Business Al Horvath recognized four outstanding F&B employees with the first ever Quality Service, Quality People Awards.

Carol Eicher Wins Award

The Diversity Award

The Diversity Award was given to Carol Eicher, assistant director of Human Resources at Hospitality Services, for her contributions and support toward the goals of F&B’s Framework to Foster Diversity.

LeeAnn Candor Wins award

The Mentoring/Guidance Award

For her commitment to assisting fellow F&B employees succeed, Assistant Director for the University Budget Office Lee Ann Candor was awarded the Mentoring/Guidance Award.

Kate Wins Award

The Leadership Award

Assistant Director of Environmental Health and Safety at the Office of Physical Plant Kate Lumley-Sapanski’s hard work and skills to help lead F&B to success won her the Leadership Award.

Bruce Wins award

The Customer Service Award

For his commitment and quality service given to F&B and its customers, Bruce Rohrbach, project manager at the Office of Physical Plant, was awarded the Customer Service Award.

Jason Bush, director of Business and Finance at Penn State New Kensington

Several of Jason’s colleagues at Penn State New Kensington nominated him for the 2006 Quality Service, Quality People Award, filling their nomination letters with examples of his sound business sense and down-to-earth management style. Many noted that his careful stewardship of University funds and genuine concern for his staff have been key to ensuring the campus’ vitality at a time of budget cuts and other financial challenges. Larry Pollock, chancellor of Penn State New Kensington, praised Jason’s “integrity, energy, and competency,” describing him as an “exceptional” administrator. Under Jason’s leadership, his colleagues say, the budget stays balanced—and the staff stays engaged, motivated, and inspired.
