Two Diversity Awards are Open for Nominations
Two awards recognizing individuals who make exceptional contributions to the Penn State lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community are open for nominations. The two awards, the Outstanding Service Award and Ally Recognition Award, will be presented in the HUB-Robeson Center on Friday, April 18, 2008.
MRC Accepting Awards for Annual Awards Reception
The Multicultural Resource Center is hosting its annual Senior Awards and Diversity Recognition Reception on April 10. The center is presently accepting nominations for the awards. Feel free to nominate faculty or staff members who have consistently promoted multiculturalism and sensitivity toward the needs of students of color.
Unisex bathrooms available in many Penn State buildings
Unisex bathrooms are currently accessible in many academic, administrative, and athletic buildings at the University Park campus and several commonwealth colleges. The restrooms provide "safe places" for the transgender community of Penn State. A list of the bathrooms is available on the LGBTA Web site.
F&B Accepting Nominations for First Annual Quality Service, Quality People Awards
Finance and Business is calling out for nominations for the first annual F&B Quality Service, Quality People Awards. The four new awards will recognize F&B employees that exceed expectations and go above and beyond their call of duty for others, F&B, and Penn State.
Make a difference locally with Leadership Centre County
Those concerned about the future of their community, schools, and environment may want to consider joining Leadership Centre County, a local group of active community members. The experience develops community leadership among those who aim to make a difference and a positive change for Centre County.
F&B Improvements Noted in Latest Diversity Climate Survey Results
As part of its Diversity Key Initiative, Finance and Business is continually developing new ways to improve the diversity climate in its units and maintain each office’s progress. A major step in that improvement is the 2007 Diversity Climate Survey.
Ask and Learn…There are No Dumb Questions
One way to get answers is to ask questions. The short film “No Dumb Questions” sits in on three sisters and listens to their probing questions about their Uncle Bill’s transformation into a woman.
Employee Ethics and Compliance Hotline
Address your concerns about workplace issues anonymously with the Ethics and Compliance Hotline. This service will assist you with problems including financial matters such as fraud, theft, conflict of interest, and other violations of University policy, including research compliance matters, discrimination, athletics-compliance issues, and more.
