Diversity: Diversity Talent Bank

Diversity Talent Bank

The Diversity Talent Bank

The Diversity Talent Bank is an online database that compiles minority job applicants by their skills and experience. During the hiring process, the hiring supervisor can access the bank and search by job skills to locate qualified diverse applicants that have applied for a Penn State job.

The program is a connection between F&B Human Resource representatives and diverse job applicants. When a diverse applicant sends their resume to Penn State, they receive an e-mail inviting them to submit their resume to the talent bank.

If there is a match between what the position needs and the applicant’s qualifications, supervisors can e-mail the person to see if he or she is still interested in working for Penn State. Those interested may be called in for an interview, along with other candidates to help determine if Penn State is for them.

There are around 300 to 400 resumes in the bank at any given time. It is a way to ensure a diverse pool of candidates is available for every job at Penn State.

The talent bank program has been running since the fall of 2004. The service is accessible by all campuses at Penn State and is an important tool in recruiting diverse employees.
