F&B's Healthy U Challenge
You are invited to participate in the first Finance and Business Healthy U Challenge! This program is open to all F&B employees who want to be healthier, feel stronger, and have more energy. Regardless of your current level of wellness, this program is for you!
Here's how it works:
Challenge yourself, your co-workers, or set-up teams. Complete the registration form to the right to compete for prizes. If you are participating as a team, each team member will need track his/her own points.
Next, download a tracking form to start tracking your results. Be sure to keep track of your progress and submit your totals every week. At the end of the program, we will tally individual and team winners based on the weekly submissions, so don't forget to send your form in weekly.
The challenge has two levels to choose from. The Novice Track is for folks who are just starting a wellness program or exercise minimally. (Please contact your family physician before starting any new exercise program.) The Experienced Track is for folks who are currently participating in a wellness program and/or exercise regularly.
You are responsible for recording and awarding your points when you complete a challenge. Points are earned for healthy habits and behaviors. Each week, a bonus point challenge will be issued where an extra point may be earned. These theme challenges will be announced every Monday via email. If you do not have access to email, please contact Lisa Wandel at 814-863-1255 for alternate ways to get the information to you.
You are not required to track your weight. Beginning and ending weight will only be used as a tie-breaker.
Each week's tracking form is due the following Wednesday. For example, the form for the week of September 20 is due on Wednesday, September 30. You may email the form (as an attachment) to Michael Zimmerman at mrz3@psu.edu, fax it to 814-863-8685, or campus mail it to 208 Old Main.
Every Monday during the challenge, you will also receive a Healthy U wellness email tip providing helpful resources and additional information. If you do not have access to email on a regular basis, please ask your supervisor to print and post the tips/challenges or contact Lisa Wandel.
The program starts September 20, 2009 and runs until December 12, 2009. At the end of the program, those individuals and teams competing for prizes will have their total points tallied. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded.
If you have any questions on this program, please feel free to contact Lisa Wandel at lsw1@psu.edu or Gordon Turow (for OPP employees) at get10@psu.edu.
