Finance & Business: Minner Reginonal President

Minner Named Regional NACUFS President

Celebrating its first 50 years, NACUFS, a trade association for food service professionals at more than 600 colleges and universities, regionally elected Penn State’s Greg Minner as president to lead the Mid-Atlantic region. Minner is currently the chair for the NACUFS National Dining Awards and a former National Publications officer for NACUFS.

"Being nominated for president of NACUFS’ Mid-Atlantic Region is a grand opportunity and an honor," Minner said. "I am eager to take the reigns (and) promote our region to the NACUFS nation."

Minner is the Regional Housing and Food Services director and has been involved with NACUFS for 17 years. He plans to bring many new ideas and goals to his new position. His two-year term begins in July at the National Conference in Washington D.C.

"It’s the president’s responsibility to set the agenda," Minner said. "I’d like to be able to build a closer bond with our industry and create opportunities for our food service managers and directors within the region."

Nearly 100 schools are a part of NACUFS’s mid-Atlantic region and Minner said he hopes to introduce more educational courses to the schools’ food service programs. He also plans to continue to improve the communication between the region and the national association office. "Building on what we do as a region and networking with other regional presidents will help us further the "Best Practices" of NACUFS and our own Universities," Minner said.

As president, he will attend the NACUFS national board meetings and be in charge of organizing regional conferences. He has already begun planning the regional conference scheduled for next March at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
