Healthy Sized Crowd Helps Make Wellness Fair a Success

Thousands of Penn State employees sipped, tasted, stretched, played, talked, ran, and learned at the inaugural Healthier U Wellness Fair in the Bryce Jordan Center.
The April 22 event featured 27 regional and local health groups and vendors that offered a large variety of information on exercise, healthy eating, and general wellness. Attendees enjoyed bowling at the Nintendo Wii station, others watched Penn State executive chefs cook up healthy dishes, and many enjoyed back massages from the Advanced Center for Pain Relief and Wellness.
The event was organized by the Focus on People Key Initiative's Wellness Subcommittee with the help of 42 volunteers from within F&B. The group's teamwork helped make the event a smashing success that kept the all-day event busy with interesting demonstrations and educational sessions.
To cater to as many schedules as possible, the fair was open from noon until 8:00 p.m. The BJC South Annex was buzzing with busyness the entire day as there was some kind of action happening at every corner of the room.
