Development of F&B Strategic Plan



The process of constructing the present strategic plan was a demonstration of teamwork planning. Nearly nine months of dialogue and review helped to develop the document. Through several modes of communication (e-mail, posters, online video, etc.), all employees were encouraged to take part in the plan’s development.

Two meetings, including the F&B Spring Retreat, brought F&B leadership and management together to discuss the plan—specifically its framework and key initiatives. Employees took part in numerous breakout sessions to collaborate and voice their opinions. After these meetings, feedback was summarized and sent to management for further comment.

Over several months, F&B leadership reviewed the feedback and fleshed it out to produce the current plan. F&B leadership placed a great deal of importance on the feedback from its staff. Employee interaction, brainstorming, and response were crucial to the planning process.

Following the plan’s publication, an extensive rollout to all of F&B will introduce the final version to employees. However, this plan is designed to be continually updated and revised as needed. This will help to maintain the most current and relevant plan possible for the next five years.
